Product Description
Makaton Level 1 training provides a practical introduction to the Makaton Language Programme.
Sessions include discussing commonly asked questions, hints and tips for effective signing and symbol use and how to start using Makaton in everyday situations at home or work.
You will learn the signs and symbols from Stages 1 and 2, and some of the Additional stages, of the Core Vocabulary (approximately 120 signs and symbols).
You will receive a workshop manual, which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop, copies of all course content and a certificate of attendance. All attendees will also be provided with access to a 30-day free trial of the Makaton library.
To complete this course you need to attend both sessions in full.
Please remember to keep your Level 1 training certificate in case you want to attend further Makaton training
Refreshments will be provided, please bring a packed lunch.
Time and Date
The Makaton level 1 Training session is split over 2 days
on Thursday 10th July 2025 and Thursday 17th July 2025
Both sessions start at 10:00 am and finish at 14:00 pm
This includes a break for lunch

£20 Parent carers of people who are non-verbal or have severe difficulties with communication (members of our charity)
£75 Professional Rate for teaching assistants/ care workers/ people who are doing the course for professional development within the disability sector
